In a world full of quick inspiration and familiar Christian trends, this is a place for women who want more than surface-level encouragement. By looking closely at what God’s Word truly says, we seek to offer hope anchored firmly in His unchanging truth—not based on feelings or circumstances.

About Anchored HopeAnchored Hope is rooted in God’s word, and it is written for women.
As I write, I picture our weekly ladies discipleship group that studies Scripture together. When I brainstorm ideas, I am thinking of the young ladies from our youth group who ask tough questions about how to honor God at school and with their friends. I remember the times sitting around the table with a close friend, petting her dogs, laughing…and crying. I consider the older ladies in my church who are examples of faithful service. I gratefully recall the times when my mentor gently rebuked me -- speaking truth in love. Each piece is written for you -- and for me. I am grateful for the education and experience that God has provided me. I have parents who instilled in me the importance of education. In elementary school, God placed me in a third grade class with a teacher that unknowingly sparked in me a passion for reading. In high school, through the generosity of my grandma, God gave me the opportunity to travel to Spain which led to a love of the Spanish language and culture. As I entered adulthood, God provided friends who helped me as I studied to be a Spanish teacher. Through His design, I met my husband and we had the privilege of raising two children. By His grace, we now have the opportunity to also teach another generation about Him. For nearly thirty years, we have enjoyed the teaching and mentoring of godly preachers, small group leaders, and close friends at our local church. More recently, God used a biblical counselor from our church to challenge me to pursue training as a certified biblical counselor. I attend Alfred Almond Bible Church in Western New York. This blog is not an official ministry of the church, but all the content will align with AABC's statement of faith. What I write is the product of almost four decades of learning, reading, studying, living, and growing alongside many people who are also following Christ. Whenever possible I will quote and acknowledge sources; however, at times, I may not even be aware of how others’ thoughts and ideas have influenced what I am writing. If you recognize concepts or ideas from sources that I have not cited, please contact me so that I can gratefully acknowledge them and give them the credit that is due. Thank you for visiting!
