things that are making me happy + links

How is it half way through January already!? Lots has been happening lately and I can't wait to catch you up soon. For now, here are some things (big and small) that have brought me joy lately:

The Bloom, Lovely journal has been amazing. I've started to use it this week daily and it's fabulous. Also, my sister called me out this past weekend for being way too hipster and working at coffee shops every day. Oops.{This one has been my favorite lately}

Yesterday Hunter and I braved Ikea for the first time ever {I know}. I wanted to get a plant. So of course we walked the entire length of the store and pretended to live in each little set up just like Summer + Tom. When I made this reference Hunter had no idea what I was talking about. Now my new plant lives in my prayer corner.

A picture to commemorate the first time ever in my life that I have {accidentally} matched my workout clothing with my tennis shoes. Is this a positive or negative thing? Not sure.

Some of the best 14 minutes I spent this week

Loving everything on The Style Line lately.

I'm getting a haircut next week. I'm tempted to cut it all off like Jenna. I'm really digging this length and style.

I want one of everything.

christmas + new years

Whew! What a whirlwind couple of weeks! Happy New Year! A big THANK YOU to all who entered the New Year's Giveaway! It was so fun to "meet" some of you through it. I hope all of you have had relaxing, joyful Christmases and fun New Year celebrations.

These last couple of weeks have been filled with family, friends, traveling and a lot of cookies. On our car ride from Philadelphia to Leigh High Valley on New Years Eve, Hunter and I were reflecting on the past year and he blurted out, "Really, 2015 has just been a big blur." We laughed but he was totally right. Don't get me wrong, it's been a year of huge blessings. However, between the both of us finishing graduate school, job decisions, moving, and big life changes, it has been a year of crazy. Sometimes I can't fathom what it will be like when life doesn't make a huge shift every 6 months or so. I know we'll get there and I'm enjoying it all for now but let me tell you, it HAS been blur.

The holidays have been a wonderful time of slowing down, taking a deep breath and gaining clarity on the path ahead. It was a special holiday- the first Christmas that Hunter and I spent together. He flew all the way back from Colorado to Maryland on Christmas Eve to spend it with me and my family. I know, I've got a good one.

I thought I'd share some of  the highlights of Christmas + New Years 2015, ones I never want to forget.

The Tuesday after Christmas, my mom, sister and I traveled up to NYC to soak in the magic that is New York at Christmas Time. We browsed 5th Ave, went and saw Chicago on Broadway and just hung out around the city. It was so much fun to have girl time.

My sister's best friend from Colleen lives on the upper East side and they were kind enough to get us tickets to the Bronx Botanical Gardens, which were absolutely stunning!

We had a pretty laid back New Years. I traveled down from New York to Philly to meet up with Hunter and he surprised me with a trip to the Philadelphia Art Museum. I have wanted to see The Annunciation in person for years and we finally got to it! It's amazingly gorgeous. I felt like I was in the room with Mary. I cried.

                                                Being silly in Uniqulo.

For the past couple of years, Hunter and I have spent New Years at The Dandelion. It's British-style pub (If Jack Wells had a restaurant, it would be The Dandelion). We love it there and recommend it to anyone living in or passing through Philadelphia!

How was your Christmas and New Years? I hope your holidays were blessed and your 2016 will be filled will many new adventures!
